A Moody Lake Elopement in Vorarlberg, Austria

Ina and Brian are such a sweet and caring couple — relaxed, playful, and so connected with each other. Their elopement at Körbersee felt laid-back, genuine, and simply them.

Körbersee has actually been named one of Austria’s most beautiful places, and it’s easy to see why. Surrounded by mountains, with crystal-clear water and absolute silence, it feels untouched. Since it’s only reachable by foot — no cars, no crowds — we hiked up the day before and stayed at the cozy Berghotel Körbersee. The next morning, the lake became the setting for their elopement.

The weather gave us everything that day — soft fog, light rain, and short bursts of sunshine. It created a moody, cinematic atmosphere that changed every few minutes, making the whole day feel alive and unpredictable.

We started with wide shots from the hotel room, capturing Ina and Brian running along the winding paths with the lake in the background.

As we continued, the fog rolled in even thicker, wrapping the landscape in soft, dreamlike light. Ina and Brian ran along the lakeside, laughing and holding onto each other, the mood of the place shifting with every step.

A short walk later, they settled down on big stones to write their vows, taking a quiet moment together before reading them to each other. With the still lake behind them, reflecting the mountains, it was such an intimate, emotional scene.

One of the highlights of the day was when Ina & Brian took the little red rowboat out onto the lake. With no one else around, it felt like they had the entire place just for themselves. The silence, the water, the mist — it was so cinematic, like stepping into another world.

To finish, they laid down in the grass, soaking up the last quiet moments. And when the rain started falling again, instead of hiding, Ina and Brian began to dance — turning the weather into part of the story and ending their elopement in the most joyful way.

Our shoot with Timna felt easy and comfortable from the very beginning. We often forgot the camera was even there and just had fun together — and you can truly see that in the photos. She captured us in such a natural and genuine way, I couldn’t have wished for more beautiful elopement photos!
